LOTRO Auction House Guide:
Selling Legendary Item Scrolls to Make Gold!

This section of the LOTRO auction house guide will help you make the most gold you can from selling legendary item scrolls. I personally don't like the legendary item system... but there is no sense crying about it right? The bright side is that it provides a great way to make some serious gold on the AH.

If you read the section on selling relics... then you'll have an idea of why these scrolls are selling for so much and have such a high demand. First, everyone NEEDS them to make their legendary items better. There is no way around it. Second, you can only get them from doing skirmishes or by trading Medallions of Dol Guldur. This makes them fairly difficult to get so the prices are excellent :)

In this guide I will cover the do's and don'ts of actually posting legendary item scrolls up for auction as well as tips for selling:

     • Scroll of Empowerment
     • Scroll of Delving

Do's and Don'ts of Posting Legendary Item Scrolls
There can be quite a few players selling these things at any given time. You'll want to check the AH for the item you want to sell first. If there are tons of people selling it then you may want to hold out for a bit. DO NOT get into the habit of undercutting just to sell your item fast. This is a great way to screw yourself by driving prices down. Just be patient. Wait until the prices are at a decent level before posting. Remember, these things are pretty hard to get, so don't waste your time and effort or anyone else's by posting for low prices.

Continue reading and I'll go over the best items to sell and what you can expect to sell them for.

Scroll of Empowerment
This is the highest selling scroll at the moment. Expect to get about 8 to 12 gold for them. The fact that you can ONLY get it by trading skirmish marks and that it costs 1950 skirmish marks makes it a pricey item. Basically run skirmishes to get this. It can be time consuming, but pays out well. The BEST way to rack up the gold with these babies is to run skirmishes in large groups since you get more marks that way. Or multi-box and then you can get more marks for your time :)

Scroll of Delving
This scroll comes from Dol Guldur. You must barter your Medallions of Dol Guldur for it. It's kind of surprising that it doesn't sell for more, but you can usually expect 4 to 8 gold for it. Running Sword Halls is probably the quickest way to grind for the medallions if you're into that sort of thing!

There are also the scrolls of minor delving and empowerment. The minor empowerment scroll is for level 60 legendary items and costs 816 skirmish marks. I've seen it go for around 4 to 5 gold. Similarly the minor delving scroll is received by bartering the moria medallions. It goes for around 2 to 4 gold sometimes. Personally I'd avoid these and trade for relics if you have extra moria medallions. You will get more gold for the relics over these.
